GMC Revels its 100th Birthday

Recently, the 100th birthday of the well-known GMC was celebrated by displaying a new uniquely designed special Heritage edition at the New York 2012 International Auto Show.

Yukon Sportster and Sierra were both produced in a new special Heritage edition standard package to symbolize 100-years of the successful and fruitful existence of GMC.

Specifically designed and decorated in many new color options, GMC is priced at nearly $1,820 to maximum $2,645 extra for the new Heritage Edition, while consumers will have to spend an additional $1,970 above the standard retail price for a Yukon or around $1,820 for the new Yukon XL ¾ ton model.

The latest Heritage edition has been offered in a number of new compelling color choices, and consumers are expected to pay a bit more than the regular price depending on the color they choose.

All standard materials that are incorporated in the new special edition vehicle including embroidered floor mats and headrests, mirror caps, large chrome wheels, and handles include the words “Heritage Edition” printed on them.

GMC had started its journey in the automotive industry way back in 1015 with the joint collaboration with Reliance and Randolph. Taking last year’s product sales into account, GMC has been considered as the tenth largest car manufacturer in the U.S at present.

General Motors is ready to unveil five refreshed or redesigned cars at the upcoming New York show, which also includes new Chevy Impala.

2013 Terrain is the newest to take on the Denali label in the GMC portfolio. It was revealed recently prior to its official launch scheduled to take place during the 2012 North American International Motor Show.

Overview

Denali is growing big time for GMC, with Terrain being the seventh model in its entire lineup to accept this tag. In addition to receiving a new high-end trim level, Terrain has come out with many changes for the 2013 year model when compared to its earlier edition.

Mechanical Specifications

For 2013, the older 3.0-liter power-train has been replaced with a standard 3.6-liter V-6 engine that is good for producing 301-horsepower, and 272 pound-feet of peak torque.

The official EPA ratings of the new vehicle with a 3.6-liter engine are not yet announced, but the company is very much confident that the new engine will be able to match the MPG numbers of the earlier 3.0-liter unit. The usage of lightweight materials is the key to achieve this fuel efficiency.

Consumers looking for ultimate MPG ratings will be still be offered with the standard 2.4-liter 4-cylinder Ecotec engine that is good for generating 182-hp, and assures a fuel economy of around 32-mpg on expressways with standard front-wheel drive system.

Interior and Safety Features

When it comes to interior, the new model features a softy leather trim, leather covered steering column with lavish wood-accents, an 8-way power modifiable passenger and driver seat.
